Utilizing the "Perfect Break" Broken Shard method as written in the book Of Technique: Chance Procedures on Turntable, this short piece uses a broken shard of a record entitled "How to teach your parrot how to talk". This record is played with a double needle while a full 12" below it ("SLEEP/ AWAKE" by Sara Auster) is catching the needles and giving the words a tone bed to rest on. This is a favorite shard due to the fact that it always guides the needle to a certain part of the record where the narrator says,"I Love You".
